How We Raise Healthy Baby Chicks From Day 1 – The Agri Buzz Way

Raising strong, disease-resistant chicks starts with the right process from the very beginning. At Agri Buzz, we blend traditional knowledge with hands-on experience to ensure our baby chickens grow healthy and naturally. Here’s our step-by-step method for the critical first seven days.

Step 1: 48 Hours in the Incubator

Once hatched, chicks remain in the incubator for the first 48 hours. This allows them to fully absorb the yolk and rest before facing the outside world. We maintain warmth and comfort to reduce stress during this crucial stage.

Step 2: Move to Brooder at 37°C with Thermostat Control

After 48 hours, chicks are transferred to a brooder set at 37°C, controlled by a reliable thermostat. Proper temperature prevents chilling or overheating, both of which can be fatal in the first week.

Step 3: Organic Boost with Homemade Feed Mix

We believe in giving chicks a strong, natural start using homemade feed that supports both growth and immunity. Here’s our trusted method:

 Ingredients:

  • 1 home-raised duck egg
  • 500g of 21% protein poultry pellets
  • 1 spoon of pig fat (natural lard, not cooking oil)

 Step-by-Step Method:

  1. Crack and beat the duck egg thoroughly in a bowl.
  2. Mix in the pellets and stir well for at least 15 minutes. This softens the pellets and allows nutrients to bind evenly.
  3. Sunbathe the mixture under direct sunlight for 15 minutes to reduce moisture and enhance natural enzymes.
  4. Gently fry the mixture in a pan using 1 spoon of pig fat over low heat.
Important: Do not overcook. The egg should be just set, not crispy.
  5. Grind the mixture into fine or small bits using a feed grinder or mortar and pestle.

This mix is highly nutritious and economical: just 500g can feed 50 chicks for a week.

Why Add Duck Egg and Pig Fat?

Duck Egg Benefits:

  • Naturally high in Vitamin E, choline, and healthy fats
  • Supports immune development and organ growth
  • Provides amino acids for muscle development
  • Builds resistance to stress and infection

Pig Fat (Lard) Benefits:

  • Offers a clean, natural source of energy without artificial oils
  • Helps absorb fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, and E
  • Keeps the digestive system lubricated, reducing constipation
  • Adds flavor that encourages young chicks to eat better

 Feeding Caution:

Overfeeding—even healthy feed—can cause pasty butt, a condition where poop blocks the vent and leaks internally.

🕒 Best Practice:

  • Feed only 3–5 small portions per day
  • Provide clean water all day and night
  • Let chicks rest between meals for proper digestion
